It takes 659 gallons of water to make a cotton tee shirt, while only 92.5 gallons of water to make a polyester shirt! That’s more than 7 times less water used in production – and that’s just one difference between these two fabrics. Synthetic fabrics also last much longer than natural fabrics and require less energy to produce. One of our t-shirt lines now recycles 98 % of the water used which reduces the additional water used by 9 gallons, or the equivalent to a 4-minute shower (the average is 8 minutes).
